Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was announced the world’s best player at the gala in Zurich tonight. The portuguese scored a total of 60 goals 17 of which he scored in the coveted UEFA champions league competition and 30 goals in the Spanish La Liga last season. Ronaldo won 4 titles with Real Madrid in 2014 which were the Champions league, Copa del rey, Europe’s Super Cup and most recently the club world cup in Morocco. Ronaldo came up with 37.66% of the votes ahead of Lionel Messi who had 15.76% and Manuel Neuer who had 15.75%. Ronaldo is now the first player to win the Ballon d’or two times consecutively as a Real Madrid player. So congratulations once again to Cristiano Ronaldo on his third Ballon d’or trophy.
