With the New Year in prospect, we can only be grateful for the amazing movies and blockbusters that hit the big screen in 2017 and hope for an even bigger 2018. Movies like Logan, Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League, Beauty And The Beast, Jumanji and the list goes on. Fans were thrilled to say the least and now, looking into the new year, we sure anticipate an even bigger year in the intriguing world of movies.
Personally, I think a lot of box office records would be smashed this year. Today on Danny world, we’ll be introducing to you our readers, the biggest movies to anticipate this year according to critics, hype and popular demand. With no further ado, we bring you the top 20 movies to expect in 2018.
• Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Directed by Wes Ball and set to be released on the 26th of January. According to reports, this would be the last of the maze runner series. In this epic finale, Thomas (still played by Dylan O’Brien) leads the escaped “Gladers” on their final and most dangerous mission yet, to free their friends.

They must break into the last city and face the deadliest maze of all and the journey would seem to provide lots of answers for them.
• Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation
Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez at it again in a sequel of the “Hotel Transylvania” series. Also starring Andy Samberg, Kevin James and David spade and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. Movie is set to be released on the 13th of July.
This time the team are on summer vacation as Dracula must finally take a vacation from providing other monsters vacation. The team then go on a luxurious boat cruise where Dracula begins to fall for the ship’s captain.
• Red Sparrow
This is surely going to be a thriller this year. Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton and directed by Francis Lawrence. The movie follows a Russian woman Dominika (Jennifer Lawrence) who is drafted against her will to become a Russian secret service trained seductress called SPARROW.
She is then sent for her first mission to go for a CIA operative (Joel Edgerton) the 2 young operatives then fall into a spiral of attraction which threatens their careers and allegiances. It is set to be released on the 2nd of March.
• Rampage
Set to be released on the 20th of April, starring Dwayne Johnson, Naomi Harris and Joe manganiello, directed by Brad Peyton. The movie tells the story about a primatologist (Dwayne Johnson) who is reserved but has an extra ordinarily intelligent silver back gorilla with whom he’s very close to.

When a genetic experiment goes south and turns this calm gorilla along with other animals into raging monsters, these monsters then begin to tear up cities. Dwayne must then team up with a discredited genetic scientist to find a cure and turn the animals back to their normal selves. It is set to be release April 20th.
• Game Night
A comedy movie directed by Jonathan Goldstein, starring Jason Bateman (Max) and Rachel Mcadams (Annie). Game night is set to be released on the 23rd of February. It tells the tale of Max and
Annie’s weekly couple game night that gets kicked up a notch by Max’s brother, who plots a murder mystery case for the couples to solve but the journey takes unexpected twists and turns and the couples realize that things are not as they seem.
• Creed II
Sylvester Stallone is back with another of his bout scenes. After the “Rocky” series and “Creed I.” Stallone is back with yet another continued script. Set to be released on the 21st of March, it is still unclear what the plot may be but the

movie would definitely be a thriller with the likes of Michael B. Jordan in the ring as Apollo Creed’s son and this time there will be flashbacks of fights of Apollo Creed himself.
• Fifty Shades Freed
The final movie of the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” trilogy. A movie’s based on E. L. James’ bestselling novel, Christian (Jamie Dornan) and Ana (Dakota Johnson) now believe they have left all their shadows behind them so they decide to get
married but just as the couple try to get accustomed to the life of being newlyweds, new threats emerge which could jeopardize their happily ever after. The move is set to be released on the 9th of February.
• Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
A sequel to the first volume in 2016 which is set to be released on the 16th of November 2018. Although the first had contradicting critics, the second has promised to be better. This time, Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) escapes and is recruiting both magical and non-magical beings.
Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has to work together with his former teacher Albus Dumbledore which we saw in the “Harry Potter” series but this time played by Jude Law to stop Grindewald.
• Oceans 8
Set just like Danny oceans trilogy Oceans 11 12 & 13, this movie focuses on Danny Oceans sister, Debbie who is just out of prison, attempts to pull off a heist to steal the world’s most valuable diamond necklace but to do this she has to enlist the help of the perfect crew.
It is to be released on the 8th of June, directed by Gary Ross and starring Sandra bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and popstar Rihanna.
• The Incredibles 2
After 14 years of waiting, your favourite family of heroes is back again and this time they face a new villain “The Underminer” who came at the end of first instalment.
The villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plan and it’s now left to the family and their close friend Frozone to stop him still unaware of what Jack Jack’s power may be. Voices by Samuel L. Jackson, Holly Hunter and so on.
• Jurassic world II: Fallen Kingdom
After the first volume being a hit, Jurassic world is here again and this time Owen and Claire head back to the island to save the dinosaurs that once
haunted them due to a volcano that is about to erupt. This movie is set to be released on the 22nd of June. Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
• Xmen: New Mutants
To be released Friday the 13th of April, New mutants takes a look at a new group of teenage mutants codenamed Magik, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Psyche and starring Anya Taylor-joy,
Maisie Williams (Arya), Charlie Heaton etc. Directed by Josh Boone, movie is set in a Horror House that sees the kids undergo training.
• Ready Player 1
Directed by award winning Steven Spielberg and starring Olivia Cooke, Tye Sheridan, T. J. Miller and Simon Pegg. The story is set in the future in a virtual world called oasis. When the game founder dies, he offers his players his fortune as the prize is hidden somewhere in a virtual treasure hunt.
A teenager then finds himself in on the hunt and against bigger foes who want to win it at all cost and do whatever it takes both in real life and virtual. It is set to be released on the 30th of March.
• Tomb Raider
No longer an Angelina Jolie thriller like in 2001. This time starring Alicia Vikander and Daniel Wu (Into The Badlands). This “Tomb Raider” is set before Lara Croft becomes an adventurer. In this movie, Lara Croft is the daughter of an eccentric adventurer who went missing and assumed dead when she was a teenager.
Now all grown up she is forced to go back to the life which she doesn’t wish to but has to in order to find her Father. Movie is set to be at the theatres come March 16th.
• Ant Man And The Wasp
Brought to you by Marvel studios and set to be released on the 6th of July and directed by Peyton Reed. This movie stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily and Michael Douglas. After appearing on “Captain America: Civil War,”
Scott (Paul Rudd as Ant-man) must come back and face his reality as a father and battling to live a superhero life. He must now go on a dangerous mission but not alone this time, he now has a sidekick Hope (Evangeline lily as the wasp).
• Xmen: Dark Phoenix
Set after the Xmen Apocalypse movie, Xmen dark phoenix looks at the character of Jean Grey and how she Battles with the phoenix within her. It is set to be released on the 2nd of
November and starring the usual cast of Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Tye Sheridan. The movie is directed by Simon Kinberg
• Deadpool II
After a hilarious volume one, Deadpool is back again still starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Set to be released on the 1st of June and directed by David Leitch. After surviving a near fatal Bovine Attack, this movie sees our hero journey round the world as he discovers the importance of Family, Friendship and Flavour.
He struggles to fulfil his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste.
• Aquaman
A late release this year set to come out on the 21st of December; DC comics, after giving us “Justice League” in 2017, is back with another blockbuster but this time, centres it on Aquaman alone. Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa as Aquaman) is the king of Atlantis who is half human and half Atlantean.
The film focuses on the Atlanteans trying to lash out at the surface world for always ravaging the seas so Aquaman then intercedes on behalf of both worlds in order for there to be no adverse effects on both worlds. It also stars the likes of Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren and Patrick Wilson.
• Black Panther
Another release from Marvel studios this 2018. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan and Forest Whitaker and set to be release on the 16th of February. It tells the story of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) a prince of African nation Wakanda who must take over the throne after his father’s murder and also has to assume the role of cultural hero Black Panther.

Marvel fans would have surely seen a glimpse of Black Panther in the Marvel movie “Captain America: Civil war” so would definitely be expecting a lot from this movie. It is directed by Ryan Coogler.
• Avengers: Infinity Wars
This movie makes the number one spot on our list as the most anticipated movie in 2018. Brought to you by Marvel studios and directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and set to be released on the 4th of May. The second sequel of the Avengers franchise, this time the avengers are back and better with the likes of Ant Man, Black Panther, Spiderman and Guardians Of The Galaxy joining their ranks and they’re up against Galactic Villain.
Thanos, who is after the six infinity stones which we have seen in previous Marvel movies which he seeks to use to rule the universe and the Avengers unite once again to stop him in his tracks.
Other movies to expect this year that just missed our list include; Mission Impossible 6, 12 Strong, Annihilation, A Wrinkle In Time, Sherlock Gnomes, Alpha, Super Troopers 2, Han Solo, Alita, Mamma Mia, Bad Boys 3, Venom, Mowgli, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and the list goes on.
