The audience always had something to look forward to every month and here at Danny world, we never ceased to bring you the latest Hollywood hits. Today, we’re gonna be releasing our official movie chart for the year 2016.

A lot of movies broke box office records this year which makes it even more difficult to squeeze in the top TEN for the year. It’s a hard call but I’m sure our viewers and movie faithfuls would agree with this list. I’m sure a lot of us are eager to see which movie is on the number one spot. So, with no further ado, here is Danny world’s top ten (10) movies for 2016 in descending order;

The movie was released on the 8th of July. “Secret Life Of Pets” was brought to you by universal pictures, starring the likes of Kevin Hart, Louis. C. K and Eric Stonestreet. “Secret Life Of Pets” was an audience favourite animation this year. It grossed a whooping $368,362,470 locally and $505,069,258 internationally in 2016 which is indeed one of the highest of the year with $43,179,255 in ticket sales. It is a family comedy drama which tries to project the lives pets are pictured to live when their owners are not home. A fantastic dramedy making the number 10 spot on Danny world’s list.

Our animation fans certainly had one for the thrill this year. Moana remains one of the best animations in the U.S box office in 2016. Released on the 25th of November and a movie brought to you by Walt Disney pictures. Another fans favourite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who is the highest paid Hollywood actor earning over $40m. The film was a late release this year but it still managed to gross $343,410,039 in the worldwide box office as it has made $144,351,000 in the international box office and $199,059,039 in the local box office. An amazing movie no doubt and it makes the number 9 spot on the list.

The Harry Porter prequel was a late release this year, released on the 18th of November but it’s late release was not a limiting factor as it grossed over $212,315,251 locally and $528,799,999 internationally through out the year with $25,185,676 in ticket sales. Fantastic beasts and where to find them was brought to you by Warner Bros. Written by bestseller author J. K. Rowlings and starring the likes of Eddie Redmayne and Ezra Miller. This amazing and highly anticipated magic film was set 70 years before the all-time favourite Harry Potter series. Little wonder why it makes it to the number 8 spot on the list.

X-men Apocalypse is number 7 on our list of the best movies in 2016.

Even though this movie was released in December, it still managed to gross over $2,058,662,225 already with $936,662,225 made locally and $1,122,000,000 internationally this may be due to the fact that “The Star Wars” franchise is no new franchise to viewers and it has already been able to gather a huge fan base overtime with its existing George Lukas films that dates back to the 70’s and this being the episode VII. Star Wars: Rogue One certainly took the box office by storm in such a short time making it number 6 on our list.
