WHAT DO YOU THINK OF EARLY MARRIAGES?

Good day everyone and once again you’re welcome to Danny world. Now ever heard of these two words ‘Early Marriages?’ Hmmm I’m very sure you have. Well if you haven’t let me fill you in a little bit. Early marriages are marriages where young girls are given out to older men for marriage most times without the consent or agreement of the girls. Now this has been happening in ancient Africa and right now it still does in modern Africa. It’s so sad to know that this still happens in our country and yet we all want development. Now how can that happen? When young girls get their future cut short and are sold out to men who are old enough to be their fathers. How can we move forward when the girl child is meant to take the back seat in the society. Recently a bill was passed concerning early marriage in Nigeria and it was disapproved by the Nigerian government. But it’s funny how something which was kicked against in the country still happens on a daily basis and nothing is done about it. Most times teenagers who are not ripe enough for marriage are sold out to men who treat them like slaves rather than wives. Not to hurt anybody’s feelings though but this mostly happens in the Northern parts of Nigeria. Now a young girl’s dreams, education and future is cut short just because she has to get married to some man who she’s probably not met before. It’s like you getting married to a stranger and worse off you’re gonna be spending the rest of your life with that stranger. Now it’s bad enough that even normal marriages still have problems let alone early marriages where both parties reason at a totally different pace. It’s sad it’s really sad. Now I want to know what you think about it? What’s your stand on early marriage?
